The views on the Fred are amazing, riding from Glenridding to Matterdale End is a lovely flowing, undulating road, fells to the left the lake on your right.
This particular point under Gowbarrow Fell always sticks in my head - the reflection off the rock wall and the shine off the lake - stunning!
