This painting was inspired when I was sketching on the beach at Southwold during a recent visit.
 
Whilst sat on the beach with the stones by my feet I was struck by the contrast of the dunes in the foreground with the Beach huts just peeking through, the 'pulsing' lighthouse and the long pier in the distance.  I wanted to test myself to see if I could bring it all together - I was well chuffed with the outcome.
 
This a large landscape deep box canvas measuring 100cm x 50cm x 3.5cm.  It is painted with acrylics and metallic highlights. The canvas sides are painted deep violet.
