This is an impression of the different terrain surrounding the statuesque Mont Ventoux in Provence, France. 
 
The view is from the Terrace of the low lying village of Sault, and the layers progress up from the Lavender fields, through the green hills, up through the rocky Gorge du Nesques, up through the forests and out onto the final lunar landscape up to the weather station at the 1909m high summit.
 
The riders helmet, bottle & glasses sit on the wall giving a sense of scale!
